Brome Lake Books sponsors event for TD Canadian Children’s Book Week on May 9th at 9:00 a.m. in our NEW location at 30 D Lakeside road in Knowlton.  Book Week began some 37 years ago with a dream of bring Canadian authors together with children all across the country.  Today some twenty nine English speaking authors, illustrators and storytellers will visit schools, libraries and bookstores in every province and territory across the country.  Author/Illustrator Ian Wallace will be presenting at Brome Lake Books.  Ian is probably one of Canada’s most travelled writers having read to over 800,000 kids across Canada, U.S. Australia, Great Britain and China.  Ian Wallace also has the distinction of being on the very first Book Week tour thirty seven years ago.

From Ian Wallace -

"In every picture book there are two stories being told. One in the words. The other in the pictures. We will explore the delicate balance between text and image to create a successful picture book.  Highly interactive, each session involves a hearty mix of storytelling and visual imagery often accompanied by dollops of humour."

We have invited two classes from Knowlton Academy to attend but there is plenty of room and everyone is welcome to this free event.

Thank you,

Danny McAuley
