Project ECOSPHERE Spokespersons: Sabine Karsenti and Emmanuel Bilodeau
7th Environmental and Green Building Fair Project ECOSPHERE in Brome on September 22nd and 23rd
Sutton, September 10th, 2012 - Project ECOSPHERE, the most unifying environmental event in Quebec, will once again this year present 200 exhibitors and 30 conferences during its seventh edition. Ecosphere will take place at 345 Stage Coach Road in Brome in the Eastern Townships on September 22nd and 23rd.
Project ECOSPHERE’s team has prepared yet again this year a most inspiring fair. Everyone will surely find something to satisfy its ecological desires and needs.
At 10 am on Saturday, September 22nd, you can come and visit the booths of 200 exhibitors distributed into the following sections:
- Eco Housing and New Technologies
- Fashion and Design
- Products and Resources
- Organic Food
- Organizations
- Health
Tasting, fitting and warm exchanges are planned.
The opening ceremony will take place at noon on the main stage, in the presence of Julius Grey, French director Anne Barth and Pascale Tremblay from Télé-Québec to name a few.
Workshops, events, screenings, debates and conferences of all kinds will take place for the next two days.
Sedna IV’s science communicators will address the fair’s public at 2:30 PM. After that, small-scale agriculture panelists will interact with the public.
Yoga, cooking workshops, photo exhibitions will be held in parallel on the fairground while the food area will welcome visitors for a gourmet and healthy snack.
Many local artists will make sure throughout the day to provide a high-quality musical entertainment to the public.
In the evening, the atmosphere will become even more festive with a 5-7 organized for the launch of Jean-Martin Fortier’s book “Le jardinier-maraîcher” followed by young and talented Chloé Lacasse’s concert held on the main stage.
The day will end in the fair’s conference room with screenings of three documentaries:
- L’environnement, c’est pas du luxe
from Réseau Québécois des Groupes Écologistes.
- Le Mouvement des Sans Terres
by Nicolas van Caloen and Juan Pablo Lepore.
- Quels enfants laisserons-nous à la planète?
with director Anne Barth.
Sunday will also offer a varied and festive program.
Don’t miss this year’s new feature: the ZLÉÉ! What lies behind this mysterious acronym is the Zone de Libre Échange de la foire Écosphère. What is it? The simplest thing in the world: an exchange table for every item which you no longer need, but can fill someone else’s need. Bring your stuff, furniture, products of all kinds (warning: clothes not accepted) and leave with what you picked from the table. A version of reuse according to ECOSPHERE.
Project ECOSPHERE - Environmental and Green Building Fair is the award winner of the Hubert Reeves for the Environment Prize and Excellence in Environment Prize of the Eastern Townships.
