Exciting events upcoming in June

Starting Saturday, June 24th 2006 and running every Saturday throughgout the summer the Town of Lac Brome (Knowlton) will be presenting a Farmer's Market. Fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, smoked fish, homemade pies and fresh cut flowers will be offered in an outdoor market environment. The Market will be located at 48 Maple Street in Knowlton and will run from 10am to 1pm every Saturday. See you there!

On Sunday, June 25th the 28th edition of the Tour du Lac Brome, the Knowlton Marathon, featuring courses of 1.6 km for kids and for adults 5km, 10km, and 20km road race. Family film night at Arts Knowlton. Pink Panther is playing on Friday, June 9 at 7 p.m.

June 10
Annual fishing derby for kids sponsored by the Brome-Bolton Fish and Game Club, 8:30 a.m. - noon at Mr. Eustache's pond, 454 Brill Road, West Bolton. The pond will be stocked with 8- to 10-inch trout (5 per child). Door prizes, hot dogs and soft drinks. No admission fee and no fishing license required. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Margo Smith Bridge Benefit Luncheon on behalf of TBL Wellness Volunteer Centre, Knowlton Golf Club, 264 Lakeside, noon. Make up your own table and please reserve as soon as possible at 243-0124. Limited seating. $16 per person all inclusive.

Annual Strawberry Social organized by The Fulford Social and Recreation Clubs, celebrating the 150'° anniversary of the first settlers in Fulford. Fulford Hall, noon - 3 p.m. 539-2982.

June 19

Discovering wild medicinal plants, outing conference in the Parc enviroranemental naturel de Sutton, organized by L'antenne Brome-Missisquoi de l 'Universite du 3ieme age (UTA) de l'universite de Sherbrooke with wellknown speaker Army Schneider. Rendez-vous at 1:30 p.m. at Sutton Mountain. Car pooling available. Information and registration: 538-0300 or email "[email protected]". Cost: $10. The number of participants is limited to 30. An exhibition of photographs from University Bishop's students will take place at the Pettes Memorial Library, from June 1 to June 30.

An exhibition of Mary Martin's paintings will be held at the BCHS Museum, June 23 - July 2. Information at 243-6782.
