Children’s Drawing Courses Were Given By Arts Sutton

Child's painting.True to its mission, Arts Sutton Gallery is again offering activities for children in order to help them become more aware of the visual arts.

From Oct. 17 – Dec. 19, 2009, a drawing course for children aged 8-12 will be held Saturday mornings from 10-11:30 at the John Sleeth Centre in Sutton. The course will be given in both English and French, and all materials will be provided: pencils, charcoal, gouache, acrylic paints, paper, glue, etc.

The course will involve drawing, painting and collage. It will also explore colour, perspective and the human figure. The children will be guided by the artists Stéphane Lemardelé and/or Isabelle Grenier.

The cost of the course is $50 for children of members, and $60 for children of non-members, for 10 classes. The deadline for registration is October 15, 2009.

This is a unique opportunity for children to develop their artistic expression at a reasonable cost. For this specific project, one which is very important to us, the Gallery has received financial assistance from generous donors.
